You will play a key role in delivering elements of our Be Curious brand family as part of our mission to make research relevant in people’s lives. Our science programme includes planetarium shows, science theatre shows, live science demonstration, hands-on workshops and activities, at the Centre and digitally. Supporting European research projects, the Communications Officer’s role will be to craft engaging, innovative content to inspire others to join the movement towards a more sustainable Ireland and Europe.

The Animal Welfare Foundation (AWF) improves the lives of animals by funding research to increase knowledge and understanding of animal welfare issues, providing a platform for debate through its annual animal welfare conference and supporting veterinary students with free talks and research grants. AWF’s audience is predominantly the veterinary and animal welfare community and its work is UK focussed.
AWF is governed by an enthusiastic board of trustees who are qualified veterinary and animal welfare professionals. We are the charity of the British Veterinary Association, the UK’s largest membership organisation for vets and are based at its central London office.
A natural communicator and storyteller, you will use your creativity and scientific expertise to create a clear narrative about the charity, its impact and achievements. You will work with the AWF team to research and understand the charity’s key audiences and devise innovative communications strategies to raise its profile.
You will have a strong track record of working in marketing communications within the charity, veterinary or animal welfare sector. The role will involve writing for a variety of audiences and mediums, as well as creating visual and video content to tell the charity’s story.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a small team, but also be confident to take the lead and work unsupervised when necessary. This is a new role and the post holder will join a supportive team of two, and work closely with an active Board of Trustees. The role will also involve working with BVA’s marketing and media teams to direct campaigns and appeals to their membership of 18k+ veterinary professionals.

The Content Officer role is a unique opportunity to work on science and culture content projects for both external and internal communications. Reporting to our Digital Content Editor and collaborating with 13 people across the Marketing and Communications team, you will play a significant role in telling stories about CPI’s people and science through digital channels.

The Ineos Oxford Institute for Antimicrobial Research (IOI) is an exciting initiative creating major new opportunities for science and advances in human health, now aims to recruit a Lead for Communications and Events to head up communications, outreach and engagement activities to drive dissemination, stakeholder engagement and maximise the impact of the Institute. At Jodrell Bank we are looking to recruit a full time Engagement Officer to join our team, to engage visitors with the science and heritage of this internationally significant site. This is essentially a public-facing role which will involve presenting education sessions to school groups (aged 3 to 18) , delivering family shows, talks and activities during school holidays and contributing to the development and delivery of our community and outreach programmes. It will also include elements of organising and supporting other activities in the Centre such as festivals and other events.
