    We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic team player, with strong communication and relationship building skills for the role of ‘Public Engagement Officer’. This post is integral to the Institute’s Public Engagement Team, and will work with Institute staff and students to fulfil our mission to inform and converse with adult and community audiences. The post will support Institute researchers to interact with audiences to share their research, their findings and their expertise. Implementing a collaborative programme of activities such as Institute visits, interactive talks, exhibitions and festivals.

    Numberfit is an award-winning social enterprise and mathematics programme. We work with schools and nurseries following the National Curriculum and EYFS for 3-14 year olds in innovative ways. Our aim is to make maths fun and enjoyable by using energetic physical activities and team games to teach numeracy and problem solving. We are building an entire entertainment brand based around numeracy. 

    We are a small but growing social enterprise with big ideas. We are looking for an individual with the energy and enthusiasm to help us with the way forward and to become an important part of our exciting and innovative journey. 

    There are many aspects to this role: - Delivering sessions in schools. - Entertainment research, developing and testing activities. - Building a fun ecosystem of mathematics. - Lesson preparation. - Mathematics and Science tutoring. 

    You will need to be highly numerate, fun, hardworking and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills and keen to help to contribute to children’s academic, physical and social well-being. 

    You will also be able to help drive the business forward, no experience is necessary – enthusiasm and great ideas are more important to us. 

    The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be highly efficient and be able to prioritise their work load effectively. 

    They will be able to demonstrate: - High level of numeracy, A level maths and a quantitative degree discipline. - Excellent organisation skills. - Thoroughness with good attention to detail. - Highly personable and able to get along with children, parents and schools. - IT literate with good experience of all Office packages.

    Position: Team Manager – Curriculum and Quality, Learn by Design.

    Responsibilities:

     Line managing the central admin/bookings team.

     To lead on development of new sessions and materials to meet

    bespoke commercial sales enquires and new project requirements.

     Analyse and implement training requirements for the delivery

    team in conjunction with the Delivery Team Manager

     To review and develop administration requirements for bookings

    and confirmations to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

     Value assure product and delivery including evaluations and

    observations.

     To identify new technology and equipment that can be used within

    delivery sessions.

     Project manage various programmes including client interaction,

    meetings and reporting.

     To ensure that all systems meet GDPR requirements and keep an

    over-view of compliance with these.

     To ensure health and safety requirements are always being

    adhered to.

     General product delivery monitoring to maintain our expected

    high standards.

     Carry out appraisals and monitoring meetings with staff under

    your line management and to support the Delivery Team Manager

    with appraisals for delivery team staff.

     Support in developing new programme ideas for grants/tenders/

    other opportunities.

     Work with the volunteer ambassador coordinator to ensure that

    volunteers are engaged and hosted effectively by the delivery

    teams whilst in schools.

     Identifying and attending relevant events/conferences to support

    curriculum and quality development.

     Occasional delivery where needs of the business require it.

     Any other duties linked to the project as they arise.

    Post title: STEM teacher

    Science teacher for ages 4-16 years (4-11 years at school opening)

    Location: The New School, 197 Central Hill, Norwood, SE19

    Salary: £25.000 - £42.000 pro-rata (depending on qualification and years of active teaching experience) 

    Successful applicants will be starting to teach young people in the primary age range 4-11 years and will evolve to teach secondary level too, as the school grows up to year 11. Young people have the option of taking biology, physics, chemistry at GCSE (as well as other related STEM GCSE’s such as maths, design and technology, ICT) and/or developing their own portfolios. The science teacher will be used to teaching at this level and will have experience of teaching both GCSE and supporting other avenues that demonstrate competence such as portfolios or modelling to support young people moving on to higher education or employment. However, it must be stressed that the GCSE curriculum is covered within a much more holistic and student-led approach to the subject at our democratic school.

    Climate Change Programme Manager

    Glasgow Science Centre (GSC) is one of Scotland’s must-see visitor attractions.  Our mission is to promote science and technology through thought provoking, fun and exciting experiences that inspire all to explore and understand the world around them.

    We are recruiting for a Climate Change Learning Coordinator to source, create and develop appropriate content for a Climate Change science programme for delivery in the lead up to, during and post COP26 within GSC, by our Outreach Teams and by Third Parties including other Scottish Science Centres and Festivals.

    General Summary: Science Information Lead 

    The Science team works cross-functionally to develop new program innovations, enhance our digital and in-person experiences, train our field staff, partner with universities on clinical research and collaborate with member data analytics, develop engaging content, conduct user research, and communicate about our program externally.  We partner with our members and colleagues to discover and translate science so it is accessible and actionable - ensuring all WW solutions are rooted in science.  Your opportunity to impact the lives of millions awaits.

    The Science Information Lead is critical to ensure that WW science expertise is highly and easily accessible and can be leveraged across the organisation with high fidelity. Partnering with cross functional teams, this new role will take the lead to create and manage an information sharing strategy, identify priorities and create plans to fill gaps by gathering inputs from internal science team, a board of science consultants and developing themselves where needed. In addition, this role will take the lead for the team in collaborating with global internal and external communications teams to integrate and leverage work of the science team  - telling our story and empowering others to leverage what we do. 

    Based in the NYC Head Office, this position will report into the Global Director of Nutrition and will have a global scope and occasional travel.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Take the lead to create and maintain a science information sharing strategy that will deliver to needs across functional teams; mapping needs, developing a process and managing this project end to end 

    • Identify topical priorities for science information and points of view that fuel cross functional work and impact. Develop and execute strategies to fill gaps, which will include gathering input from internal and external subject matter experts. The goal is to have a responsive, up to date and highly accessible warehouse of informed, accurate positions. 

    • Manage the dissemination of science information and points of view across functions and WW markets, taking the lead on topics in areas of expertise and empowering others to use the information with high fidelity. This will involve communicating science backed points of view to cross-functional teams within the organization maximizing understanding and impact. 

    • Take the lead to establish and manage a board of science consultants that are pulled in for quick working groups and / or literature reviews to inform our positions as needed  

    • Conduct and organize literature reviews to add value to guide WW scientific points of view

    • Play a role for the science team as a business partner to global internal and external communications teams to deliver to range of responsibilities;

      • Be the key point of contact for global communications teams to input into the science information project requirements and leverage our science backed points of view. This will involve working across WW markets on both proactive and reactive communications activity across channels. 

      • Support an ongoing strategy to leverage WW science and science backed approached to weight and wellness in external communications 

      • Establish a strategy in collaboration with other teams, to leverage WW science team in external and internal communications - telling our story, contributions to science (e.g publications, conferences) and in general empowering others to leverage what we do. 

      • Create and manage opportunities for science team members to present at conferences and events and support the development of our expert profiles 

      • Play a role in co-creating science team presentations and communications documents as needed. 

    Experience Required:

    • At least 5 years relevant work experience in the wellness or weight management field with consumer facing programming, science writing or content development focus  

    • Subject matter expertise in an area of weight and / or wellness, via standard behavioral therapy, clinical psychology, nutrition, physical activity or public health 

    • A good appreciation for and understanding of the collaboration of science in industry and or public health

    • Ability to gather multiple perspectives and priorities and synthesize into a plan 

    • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, with a strength in development of presentations and communications briefs. Ability to translate science topics in impactful, digestible ways. 

    • Proven ability to prioritize, communicate and effectively escalate and de‐escalate issues to successfully resolve issues. 

    • Demonstrate a high level of operational maturity, judgement, assurance and engagement across the organization. Be a ‘solutions person’.

    • Experience in working with a wide range of stakeholders including scientists, policy makers, industry leaders, charities and advocacy groups

    • Be intellectually curious and open to innovation, but maintain objectivity and challenge when necessary 

    • Ability to build relationships with credibility and trust both internally and externally. Experience of management of partnerships with a range of people and organisations. 

    • Discerning and has the ability to separate fads from facts and importantly empower others to distill them into practical, actionable recommendations.
