About the UKESF:
The UK Electronics Skills Foundation (UKESF) is the voice for skills in the UK Electronics and semiconductor sector. We engage with schools, universities, and industry to encourage young people to study Electronics and explore careers in this vital sector. The UK has a long heritage of technological innovation, and the Electronics sector plays a crucial role in addressing some of the biggest societal challenges. Through our programmes and initiatives, we help aspiring engineers progress from school to university and into the workplace.
Project Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, technology-literate writer, researcher, or content developer to produce tailored educational resources supporting UK schools in understanding and connecting with local organisations in the semiconductor sector. This is a temporary freelance role, with an expected completion date of mid-December 2025.
Scope of Work:

Conduct desk research on semiconductor companies and local organisations across:

Central Belt of Scotland
-
Northern Ireland
-
North East England
-
Southern Wales
-
South West England
-
Produce ~25 A4 pages of text with links to relevant images and videos.

Ensure the content is engaging, accessible, and suitable for schools.
Budget:
What We are Looking For:
The ideal freelancer will be:

Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.

Experienced in research and content creation, ideally in education, STEM, or technology sectors.

Comfortable producing material suitable for schools and educators.

Knowledge of the UK semiconductor or electronics industry is advantageous, but not essential.
