Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) permanent

University. Life Science Centre is at the heart of this ‘circle of science’ and aspires to be the most accessible and

inclusive visitor attraction in the UK. It has an international reputation for its work in sensory engagement.

 

We are seeking a Head of Facilities to lead the delivery of first class facilities management across our high profile

property portfolio of approximately £100m in value, with a complex mix of visitor attraction, offices, laboratories,

clinical areas, theatres, event facilities, specialist clean room areas and a multi-storey car-park. Income generated from

the property portfolio supports Life’s charitable aims.

 

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead a team to manage site-wide infrastructure and provide an

excellent environment for visitors and tenants. As an experienced and knowledgeable facilities professional with a

proven track record in delivering hard and soft facilities services (both planned and reactive) across a diverse site, you

will come from an engineering background, have excellent management and budgetary skills and be a good

communicator. You must be able to contribute to the strategic planning of the portfolio, including renewal of capital

assets and leading on plans for decarbonisation. With a good understanding of risk management, you will ideally hold a

health and safety qualification to help maintain high standards of health and safety across the site. Some understanding

of landlord and tenant matters is desirable.

Salary is dependent on experience and negotiable for the right candidate.
