Open City Research Community Developer
The Open City Research Community Developer is a proactive, practical role which works to share We The Curious’ ‘Open Up Science In Our City’ pledge with communities who are underrepresented in scientific research. You will work both in our building and within communities to support community led research in Bristol.
Most of your work will be part of Research Collective. This is a programme developed by the Open City Research and inclusion teams to put the power into the hands of those we work with. A key part of your role will be to be the key point of contact for our community researchers. You will develop trusting relationships with our partners, arranging for their unique needs to be met so they can deliver new and exciting research projects that make a difference for their own communities and beyond.
The Open City Research team is responsible for developing our 'Open Up Science in the City' Pledge. We’re creating engaging opportunities for the public and researchers to work alongside each other in new ways, to explore questions about the world around us, together.
We’re committed to improving the quality of scientific research through introducing more diverse perspectives to the process; we’d like to see the benefits of research being relevant to a broader society. To find out more about the team watch our video - https://youtu.be/jHIJTA8lt-c
