Head of Festivals at the British Science Association

The next British Science Festival will be held in September 2023 in the South of England (location to be announced shortly). We are looking for a full time Head of Festivals to join the British Science Association team. Further details below: 

Based: Our Head Office is based in the Science Museum, London but we have an agile working policy enabling people to work at another UK location up to 4 days/week.  Permanent remote working in the UK is possible and we welcome applications from people based in other parts of the UK.  

Terms: Full time (35 hours/week), permanent.  

Salary band: £41,600 to £50,960

 

The Head of Festivals is responsible for setting the strategy and overseeing the development and delivery of the British Science Festival, Europe’s longest running science festival, and leading the UK Science Festivals Network and associated projects. 

 

They lead the curation of an engaging programme for the British Science Festival with relevant speakers and content which attract a range of audiences, particularly those that are underrepresented in science.  In addition, they lead the UK Science Festivals Network which meets several times a year to share best practice and discuss the future of the science festivals sector.
