People Power: Engaging Audiences

As part of BIG's role in promoting excellence in science communication we are pleased to announce our upcoming skills day: People Power... the Science of Engaging Audiences.

Engage, Encourage and Reward.

This course concentrates on explaining, exploring and workshopping, audience interaction and volunteer engagement techniques. This course enables, even the most experienced of presenters to enhance their science demonstrations by making the most out of their audience contributions.

The day is split into a series of practical and theoretical challenges, which help participants practice techniques whilst allowing them to explore their application to their own specific presentations and workshops.

About the Trainers -  Adam Senior and his team at CREW have extensive experience developing presentation skills training solutions, working with some of UK's leading science centres, museums and attractions. This has seen them develop successful shows, presentation skills and communication strategies with both in house and outreach teams across a variety of institutions. With over 18 years experience of working in education as a workshop presenter and 14 years of training staff in museums and attractions, Adam has a vast array of transferable communication and training skills which can be adapted to benefit a cross section of staff and enhance their visitor engagements.
