Bursary Application

Thanks to financial support from UKRI, we are offering five bursaries to cover the cost of registration, membership and any reasonable expenses associated with attending this Skills Day. These bursaries have been set up to facilitate greater diversity in the people who attend our events so that we are more representative of broader society. This diversity includes, but is not limited to: age, gender, health, geography, cultural heritage, career path, salary or educational background.

To apply, please tell us why you would like to be considered for a bursary– you can do this in the following ways through this online application form:

• In no more than 250 words, describe how you would increase BIG’s diversity; OR
• Attach a link to an audio or video clip (of no more than 2 minutes) describing how you would increase BIG’s diversity.    

If these don’t work for you, please get in touch (event@big.uk.com) so we can discuss an alternative way for you to apply.

As with all of our bursary programmes, we are looking to support people who are committed to STEM Engagement and Communication.

We will treat all information you provide in strictest confidence. The information will only be used to allocate the bursaries and in reviewing the effectiveness of the bursary programme.

The bursary covers your registration fees for this Skills Day, BIG membership for one year and reasonable expenses associated with you attending the Skills Day. It is open to anyone.

Deadline: 6pm, Thursday 17th January, 2019 - sorry, late applications will not be considered.

 If you are successful with your bursary application and have already booked and paid for your conference place, BIG will refund your registration and membership fees.
